One Picture, One Thousand Words

‘Threadbare’
Before you read further – do you have any guesses as to what this might be?
This is a raw fractal I created in 2006, using a program called Apophysis.
What is a fractal, you ask? Simply put, it is “a geometric pattern that is repeated at ever smaller scales to produce irregular shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical geometry.” (thank you Wordnik for providing a concise description for me to appropriate)
I love this fractal, because it gives the impression of being worn, fragile and not having much life / use left in it, yet by it’s very nature it is infinite. It sums up how I feel some days, with an eloquence I can’t match with words.
Cheers all,
Jenn
